mCherry is the second generation monomeric red fluorescent protein that has improved brightness and photostability. Recombinant mCherry is expressed and purified from transformed E. coli by a method that guarantees high purity and maximum fluorescence intensity. The mCherry protein is a 28.8 kDa monomer with 256 amino acids.
